Pain Management
Pain is unfortunately part of daily life for many patients. Most have already been affected by acute or chronic pain at some point. Pain that is not well managed can easily become a daily burden for the person it affects. Many conditions such as fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, neuralgia and musculoskeletal injuries can lead to chronic pain. Commercially available medications to treat these types of pain can sometimes be effective but lead to serious side-effects, especially when used on a chronic basis.
Compounding allows us to use the same active ingredients but through a different route. In most case, the topical route is preferred. It is simple, practical, and allows combining several active ingredients applied directly to the site of pain.
